Kory "Tex" Bosley
Tex is a musician, music educator, craftsman and consultant in North Texas.
Originally from Wichita Falls, Tex studied percussion and drum set from an early
age under the guidance of his father. In 1997, after completing his second of
five tours in "Marching Music’s Major League," Drum Corps International
Tex moved to Denton to study music and education full time at the world-renowned
University of North Texas College of Music
In his time at UNT Tex was a member of many performing groups including The UNT
Drum Line where, in the fall of 1998 as a member of the bass drum section, he won
a PASIC World Championship. In addition to his drum line
studies with Paul Rennick at UNT and Carolina Crown,
Tex also studied with legendary percussion educators including Dr. Robert Schietroma
and Professor Ron Fink, Professors Ed Soph and Christopher Deane, Professors
Jeff Prosperie and Mark Ford as well as Maestro Jose Aponté who became an early mentor
and friend to Tex guiding his collegiate studies in Latin and World Percussion.
While studying music education and pursuing professional drum line and marching bass
drum experience Tex also began to regularly perform on drum set and world percussion
around the North Texas region eventually nurturing a career in the incredibly demanding
field of professional music performance. Tex’s efforts came to reward with his becoming
one of the top call drum set artists in DFW and his going on to tour the United States
with several artists and to record with many more. He has appeared on a number of
releases for both major and independent labels and holds several accolades and nominations
for both performance and recording.

In 2001, after completing his time as a performing member of several marching ensembles,
Tex began his educational career with several North Texas area band programs including
Colleyville Heritage, Plano Senior and Lewisville High Schools. He has become an authority
on the art and science of tonal bass drumming and continues to play a leading roll in
developing today's cutting edge techniques and methods in that discipline. Many of this
era’s top marching performers are former students of Tex's who continue to grow his influence.
In 2010 Tex founded Tex's Tubs Drum Company, an operation focused on the refurbishment of percussive
instruments to be made available affordably to young aspiring players and smaller band programs
who may otherwise be without the means to pursue the joys of music through drumming.

Soon after starting Tex's Tubs, Tex joined forces with the Denton Music and Arts Collaborative
as an artist advocate and inaugural enrollee. Tex also advised the
City of Denton, The Denton Mainstreet Association, The Denton Convention and Visitor's Bureau
and, through it, the Governor’s Texas Music Office as an artist consultant during Denton’s journey
to become one of the few communities in the state to be officially recognized as "Music Friendly"
Discover Denton.
More recently, in 2016 Tex was named the Professor of Percussion Studies at both Clark and Vines
High Schools in Plano, Texas and is currently the Assistant Percussion Coordinator for the Central
Plano Cluster which includes 8 campuses and hundreds of percussion and music students ages 10 to 18.
Tex continues to record and perform with numerous acts and remains a highly visible member and ardent
supporter of the North Texas Music and Education Communities. American Airlines.
